About Conway Physical Therapy
One-on-one, hands-on physical therapy in Appleton — built around curiosity, time, and careful clinical reasoning.
Hi, I'm Dr. Alex Conway.
I'm a deeply curious person who genuinely loves helping people — and that curiosity is what shaped this practice.
It started with a degree in psychology, and a fascination with how people work — not just their bodies, but their histories, their habits, and the way they experience what's happening to them. That same curiosity led me into physical therapy, and then well beyond the standard toolkit: rehabilitation, osteopathic and hands-on techniques, neural manipulation, craniosacral therapy, dry needling, and pain neuroscience. Each approach added something. But it was the people who didn't respond the way I expected who kept pushing me to look deeper.
Fascial Counterstrain became a turning point. I was skeptical at first — but I was struck by how specific the assessment could be, and by the meaningful changes that sometimes followed. It gave me a new way to recognize tissue patterns that may be contributing to pain, sensitivity, and restricted movement, even when the most painful area didn't seem to tell the whole story.
Since then, I've kept integrating those ideas with the rest of my training. I pay attention not just to the tissue in front of me, but to the person — their history, their goals, and everything they've already tried.
I built Conway Physical Therapy to create the time and freedom to listen carefully, think deeply, and keep asking better questions when the first answer isn't enough.

Why cash-based, and why one-on-one.
Every visit here is just the two of us. No double-booking, no being handed off to an aide, no treatment squeezed between three other people. The whole appointment is yours.
There's also an honest difference in what we're aiming for. Insurance-based care is generally built to restore basic function — restoring your ability to manage daily tasks. That matters, but it's a lower bar than where most people actually want to end up: back to the activities, work, and movement they love, performing at their best. Coverage often runs out right at that line.
Working cash-based lets me keep going past it. Instead of building care around billing rules and authorization limits, I can build it around your goals — taking the time to understand the full picture, treat carefully, and work toward the level of function that actually matters to you.
